At seventeen years of age, I immediately discovered my love of the art of engraving by hand after seeing it performed by a seasoned hand engraver in Uptown Charlotte.
Although I will forever consider myself to be a student of engraving, my formal training began at Montgomery Community College in 1988. In addition, I have received advice and mentoring from numerous hand engravers from around the country who have been kind enough to share their knowledge and love of the art.
Early in my working life, my craft grew and became part of our family business, Recognition Plus, until I struck out on my own in September, 2002. I operate my studio in the south Charlotte, NC area, but I also serve the United States through mail order. Bring on the world!
I have been married for over 30 years. I have three adult children. I enjoy cooking, strolling hand made craft fairs with my wife, making silver jewelry, playing ukulele, and listening to my ever-growing vinyl record collection.
